Jeremy Bergen attends the Mennonite World Conference

From May 11 to 17, Jeremy Bergen attended commission meetings of the Mennonite World Conference, and the assembly of the European Mennonite Conference, all in the Netherlands. Jeremy is a member of the Faith and Life Commission of Mennonite World Conference, a global communion of member churches (national churches) from 61 countries, the majority of which are in the Global South.

This commission's current agenda is to develop a framework for how member churches talk about issues on which there is significant disagreement, such as around same-sex relationships. The other three commissions (Peace, Deacons, Mission) also met together—the first two pictures are of all commission members who were present.

After these meetings, all the MWC delegates attended the European gathering in Amersfoort, Netherlands, which consisted of plenary worship time, workshops, local tours, and opportunities to meet Mennonites from around Europe. The last photo is from a worship service at which the youth led everyone in dancing! Jeremy Bergen attends the Mennonite World Conference
