Chik Mo-Fai Scholarship

Award type:
Entrance scholarships
Award description:

One or more scholarships, valued at $1,500 - $3,000 each, are awarded annually to undergraduate students from China entering first year of any program at the University of Waterloo. Preference will be given to students who have graduated from Ying Wa College in Hong Kong. This fund is made possible by a donation from Rex Auyeung, a 1977 graduate of Environmental Studies. Rex is honouring his late father-in-law Chik Mo-Fai and his "drive" to move up in his career. Rex respected this and he hopes this "drive" will send a strong signal to students to study hard. As long as students are willing to study and have the desire to be successful, this scholarship is intended to relieve some of their financial burden, allow them to concentrate on their studies, and eventually contribute back to society at large.
