An award, valued at a minimum of $2,500, is available annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in any program at the University of Waterloo. Eligible candidates must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum average of 75%. Candidates must currently be in extended society care in Ontario (previously called Crown (permanent) ward), or have been in extended society care in Ontario for at least one year after turning 13 years old. To be considered, students must apply for a Children's Aid Foundation (CAF) Scholarship through the CAF https://www.cafdn.org/for-youth/educational-support. This fund is made possible by a donation from Andrew and Edith Dunn in memory of their brother and son, Dr. Stephen Charles Maitland Dunn.

Interested students must apply for a Children's Aid Foundation (CAF) Scholarship through the CAF https://www.cafdn.org/for-youth/educational-support. Applications open in late December for the following fall semester, and close in mid-February. Decisions are made by the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada’s Scholarship Award Committee and are announced in July.
