Award description:
Scholarships, valued at up to $4,000 each, are awarded annually to outstanding undergraduate students who identify as women entering Year One in the Faculty of Mathematics. This scholarship was established in honour and memory of Ms. Sampriti Devi Ray, the grandmother of Shanku Niyogi (BMath '94). Ray was a pioneer in her time for encouraging higher education for her daughters. The inspiration she provided her children and grandchildren, carries on to a new generation today that includes Shanku's two daughters.
