University of Waterloo/FIRST Mechatronics Engineering Scholarship

Award description: 

In partnership with FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and the Departments of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering, the University of Waterloo is pleased to award one $5,000 non-renewable entrance scholarship. The scholarship is to recognize and reward students whose experience with FIRST has inspired an interest in pursuing an engineering education. The scholarship is presented annually to an outstanding student entering first year of the Mechatronics Engineering program at the University of Waterloo who was active on a FIRST team in the final year of high school. Selection is based on academic excellence and extracurricular achievement as assessed through the Admission Information Form and the online video interview. Students are asked to emphasize their participation on a FIRST team in the AIF. More information on FIRST is accessible at www.usfirst.org.
