Award description: 

One or more awards, valued at up to $5,000 each, are provided annually to full-time undergraduate studentsĀ enrolled in Year One of any program who have a minimum admission average of 80%, demonstrated financial need, and areĀ an Ontario resident. To be considered, students must apply for the University of Waterloo Entrance Bursary. This fund is made possible by a donation from Mr. George Gibbons who believes that his investment in talented, Waterloo-educated students, will have far-reaching benefits for Canada at home and abroad.

  • Complete the Entrance Bursary application.
    • You can find the application on the Awards and financial aid tab in the Waterloo application portal.
    • Access to the form is limited to Ontario students who will be studying on a full-time basis and who are applying to post-secondary studies for the first time.
    • Additional eligibility criteria can be found on the application form.
    • The Entrance Bursary application is open from February 1 to April 15.
