Wish Scholarship for Women in Computer Science

Award description: 

Four scholarships, valued at $5,000 each, will be awarded annually to full-time undergraduate students who identify as a woman entering Year One of any program in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science (excluding Software Engineering), wherein women are underrepresented. Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum 80% admission average), the Admission Information Form, and contest scores as assessed through the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC). Preference will be given to students who demonstrate leadership potential and are committed to diversity and equity issues. This fund is made possible by a donation from Wish, a company created by University of Waterloo Mathematics alumni - Peter Szulczewski (BMath `05) and Danny Zhang (MMath `05, BMath `03).
