David Borkenhagen design presentation
David is a Psychology PhD student in Dr. Colin Ellard’s Urban Realities Lab. He is currently researching COVID-19 risk perception in urban and architectural environments, its antecedent factors, and its subsequent effects on precautionary behaviours. Outside of the pandemic, his research focuses on cross-modal representations of space in human cognition, such as during social cognition or metaphoric reasoning. These investigations are supplemented by contemporary discourses on architectural phenomenology and embodied cognition in order to develop a comprehensive, scientifically informed theory that accounts for the profound effects of architecture on epistemology. He holds a BSc in Neuroscience from McGill, a MPlan from the University of Calgary, and has completed coursework at RMIT and the GSAPP.
