The 12th Hydrocarbon Summit: Transport, Fate and Remediation of Hydrocarbons in the Subsurface

The 12th Hydrocarbon Summit: Transport, Fate and Remediation of Hydrocarbons in the Subsurface, will take place Wednesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the University of Waterloo.

Session topics include:

  • Sustainable water and residual hydrocarbons
  • Addressing challenges with the detection of PFAS degradation products
  • Dual oxidant system for in situ treatment of organic contaminants
  • Carbon based injectates for the remediation of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater

Renison University College will be hosting the annual, international Trinity Institute Conference on March 22-24, 2017. This year's livestream from New York City will focus on Water Justice.

Trinity Institute is a global conference held in New York City and webcast all over the world. With a sharp focus on the need for water justice initiatives in areas of access, droughts, pollution, rising tides, and flooding, Trinity Institute aims to offer actionable guidance surrounding these issues.

The eighth annual UN World Water Day in Waterloo is on March 22, 2017. This year's theme is wastewater, and the campaign ‘Why waste water?’ is about reducing and reusing wastewater. 

Co-hosted by the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, this event is a celebration of water which showcases water research at both universities. This year it will be hosted at Wilfrid Laurier. 

Join us at the University of Waterloo in celebration of World Wetlands Day. On this annual international day of significance, wetlands groups across the globe commemorate the February 2, 1971 adoption of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.

The second International Conference on Amphibious Architecture, Design and Engineering 2017 (ICAADE) will unite academics, practitioners, professionals and policymakers from in the exchange of knowledge on amphibious flood mitigation strategies, inviting collaboration among researchers, business, institutions and governments around the world. Flood mitigation and climate change adaptation will require the development of new housing types and retrofit strategies in order to maintain community integrity in populated regions where flooding is expected to increase.
