The Centre for Trenchless Technology has released its second annual Canadian Trenchless Directory. The directory is the go-to resource for all those interested in trenchless technology, containing a list of numerous companies that provide trenchless services in Canada. Find out who in Canada is doing what service in the trenchless industry and who is your local service provider.

The Water Institute is pleased to offer, with the generous support of our External Partners, five scholarships valued at $5,000 each. The scholarships are available to full time graduate students at the University of Waterloo conducting water-related research.
The scholarships offered are:

Three Water Institute members have been recognised for their achievements and pre-eminence in their particular field of knowledge with a University Research Chair designation. 

Congratulations to:
Pu Chen, Professor, Chemical Engineering; 
Claude Duguay, Professor, Geography and Environmental Management; and
Heidi Swanson, Assistant Professor, Biology.

The Water Institute offers seed grants of up to $20,000 to its members to stimulate interdisciplinary collaboration, to facilitate interaction with national or international authorities, and to encourage the development of research proposals. A total of $75,000 is available in the Fall 2015 Call for Proposals, which is now open. Applications are due by September 25, 2015. A second Call for Proposals for the Winter 2016 competition should be announced in November 2015, with proposals due in late-January 2016. 

A new promotional video for the Canada Excellence Research Chairs (CERC) Program has been released. The two-minute video features a montage of several of the CERC chairholders presenting the CERC program and its overall objectives.
