The following example proposals all received full funding, and have been provided to help give potential applicants an idea of what a completed Waterloo Environment Students Endowment Fund (WESEF) proposal might look like, for a range of project types and costs.
- EV1 courtyard revitalization ($19,084.70) (.pdf)
- 360 photography equipment ($8,238.31) (.pdf)
- Combining 2 Cultures Accessibility Plan ($8,000.00) (.pdf)
WESEF accepts proposals for any value, although it is useful to note that our budget each term tends to run somewhere between $30,000 - $45,000. We also do partial funding, so even if your project exceeds our budget, that does not mean we will not consider helping to cover part of it.
The keys to a good proposal are making sure you describe how your project meets WESEF's funding criteria (e.g., how it will benefit Environment students); giving a good, detailed cost breakdown with any necessary quotes; and making sure you've got the appropriate department to sign off on it.
