Submitted items:

1) Explorer crashing
Windows Explorer seems to be crashing on certain machines in Arts. Ray and Nevil will look into this more
Roaming Profiles from last term don't seem to work well this term. Again this will be looked into more.

2) Some accounts at logoff have cmd.exe still running
Has to be looked into and is therefore postponed to a later meeting.

3) Wserv2 not finishing properly
Should only happen when there is no N-drive connection.

4) Wordperfect 2002 can't read .wps files
Problem noted in Arts, there are no other instances yet. This problem too has to be looked into.

5) Math and ES Students and Nexus password updates
Bruce will tweak the system so Artsmail will affect Math & ES Nexus accounts. Math will hopefully have a Nexus system up and running during the Spring Term. It was mentioned again that support for Polaris is low key priority and will probably end come September 2002.

There was a unanimous consensus to "Update passwords from Unix to Windows 2000 Nexus, but not the other way around. A Web Form will be used to change passwords by the user." In order to do so we have to Disable Password Change in the Nexus environment through a GPO.

6) Experience with stopping logon with temporary profiles
No experience yet. Moved to other meeting.

Information items:

1) Minimum quota levels for Polaris & Nexus combination
25MB for Nexus
25MB for Polaris

2) Samba printing
is working on Polaris and Nexus environment.

3) Security patches and service packs
are hard to apply with GPO's. It's only possible to install through a startup script. Will Microsoft Windows 2000 do it right and what are the implications? Questions to which we need an answer for the next term.

4) Directories created on the user space related to Nexus
N:\Windows2000
N:\Software
N:\Mail (shared between Polaris/Nexus)
N:\Netscape (shared between Polaris/Nexus)

5) SysPrep in Nexus
SysPrep created images that could be installed by 3rd party programs, such as PQDI. There are however problems with network access.
