    • 2 domain controller type PCs purchased ($12,000)

Nexus exam lockdown

  • Achieved in Arts for UWONE
    • used to restrict 'outside' access
    • router used to limit access
    • IPSEC is not flexible enough to achieve this
    • anonymous logging is possible
    • procedure to be established for auditing policy, to take into account privacy issues
    • users need to know that they are being monitored

Logging of software

  • Logging of software useage/what drive?/local/
  • Purpose is to generate statistics/licensing issues
  • Prompted by the useage of Terminal Services

    • Applications that are running

  • Reported on the availability of Nexus accross campus
  • N:\ is required /user space
    • temp space will be created in order to accomodate the Library
    • accounts to be given on 30 leases via paper agreement, Tim F. to followup with the library
    • Library representative to be invited to WNAG
  • Many users do not have N:\ space
  • 10,000 accounts in Nexus

  • Dennis was having problems installing a server.
  • His strategy raised several questions concerning bang bang accounts and
    nexustest.
  • WNAG agreed with his request to solidify the rules of bang bangs
    (current prototype of rules to be improved upon and ratified by wnag soon)
  • Nevil suggested the server be tested in Nexustest first, everyone agreed.
  • Hon offerred to look at the server as a quick first step, and then try nexustest.

  • SP3 for MS Office to be deployed, removing old version of MS Office
  • SP4 for Corel WordPerfert to be deployed
  • Adobe Reader 6 plugin to be disabled
