Mail Search / KB Interface
Tim asked if there is a need for a more structured system for tracking knowledge acquired through this group
Will look into setting up mail list with history database and web-based search interface
Sysctrl failures
Sysctrl failed to execute tasks.
- AHS recommended stopping HID service, which fixed it for them
- See KB812400 as well
AHS Moving staff/faculty to NEXUS
- AHS announced they were moving faculty and staff to NEXUS.
- Requested what training or "promotional" materials were given to convince other departments on campus to move successfully to nexus
- Arts replied they had some from their move to arts AD
- ES mentioned they offer services on NEXUS that isolated individuals cannot use to convince them to come over
2003 AD native mode switchover
- The switch to 2003 native mode will occur at the end of this term.
- ES requested no switch occur until their "rebuild" is completed.
- Implications and benefits for switch include better GP backup
- No real benefit for logging, MS sucks
- Group agreed that a better central logging infrastructure could be developed
Madoka license error
- Cannot connect to server errors occuring
- System is license server for 200 Terminal Services connections
- Hopefully fix will be to get proper SSL certificate
Cambridge move
- Require password change tool, authenticate against ADS and change NEXUS
- In Summer 2004 development commitment, in time to test before term start from Bruce
