Agenda items this month
Meeting discussions
Cleanc not working
Naji will give access to Daniel in order to track down the problem.
Audit and Flexlm
Audit and Flexlm are up and running on a new computer for the past month in Engineering. Please add your computers by adding the GPO "Nexus Common Audit" if you would like your computers to be audited.
Vista updates
IST is moving to Vista starting in May. New computers will have Vista installed instead of reverting back to XP.
AHS has the most nexus machines using Vista. The installation is mostly done from original media rather than GPO's (SAV and Office are the exceptions) and user's do not use roaming profiles.
Long logins
One machine in RCH was having long login issues. A replacement machine did not fix it, however there were problems other oddities with the replacement so a second replacement was installed and solved the long login issues.
Psychology still has intermittent long login issues.
I'm a Mac/I'm a PC - security issues...
Windows XP has now inherited the executable not running problem with a patch installation; so that even the administrator cannot run applications without "unblocking" an executable (right click).
WSUS
Hon is working on getting WSUS reports running on the Engineering WSUS servers.
Email clients
A general discussion of email clients happened, mostly due to the Exchange project within IST. We informally discussed the "slippery" slope we would all face once people find out that the calendar was available within Office.
Next meeting scheduled for April 16, 2008.
