Spiritual wellness

What does this priority area mean?

  • The World Health Organization offers the following: “Spiritual health refers to that part of the individual which reaches out and strives for meaning and purpose in life. It is the intangible “something” that transcends physiology and psychology."

Why is this important at UWaterloo?

  • The University of Waterloo has made many commitments to Spiritual wellness through the signings of the Okanagan Charter and Healthy Workplace Statement, the Strategic Plan, and Indigenous Strategy Working Group Recommendations.
  • The work of the Wellness Collaborative will ensure coordination across all of these commitments to investigate what spiritual wellness means to our university community and the role of UWaterloo in supporting the spiritual wellness of its students, staff and faculty.
