Sourcing 101

Reflecting on the past

During these past four months, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students through drop-ins at the library as well as during appointments at the Writing and Communication Centre. Among the teaching and communication skills that I have learned through this experience, I am also thankful for the lessons learned. Here are a few:

What is a superfood? Is it food that wears a cape and fights crime? Yes and no. Superfoods are foods that are nutrient dense. These foods can help you feel energized throughout the day so that you can be productive and skip on the afternoon chip cravings. Some of them also have the ability to fight diseases!

We've all done it. Whether it is through social media or in person, we've all internally wished we were someone else or have externally said "You're so lucky!". Although jealousy is a normal emotion it can consume us at times which has a negative impact. If you've caught yourself doing this, here are a couple of reasons to stop.

Many students come to the Writing and Communication Centre to see if their writing flows well. Most of the time these students don’t know why, but they feel as though their writing is hard to follow. Here are the top three reasons your work may seem confusing to the reader.

Here are some easy tips on how to become a greener workplace.
