On Saturday, June 4 from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m., Information Systems & Technology (IST) has scheduled an emergency maintenance window to replace network storage components that have failed. You will not be able to connect to any UWaterloo-based network storage (mapped drives) during this time window.
Resolved: Users should be able to authenticate when connecting to eduroam again. IST has implemented a targeted mitigation while the vendor provides a software patch to fix a bug in the authentication service.
In preparation for the Fall term, Information Systems & Technology (IST) has created hybrid work guidelines for University employees who will be working both in the office and from home.
Teams meeting recordings will now be stored in your OneDrive for Business account or the SharePoint site connected to your Microsoft Team instead of being stored in Microsoft Stream by default. Recordings from before September 1 will not be affected and will remain available in Stream.
The campus-wide Zoom license is now available for employees and students. Using Zoom for teaching within LEARN will be available in early August.
If you have a Zoom account, there are some steps you need to take to convert it to the university plan. If you have never created a Zoom account, you can go to https://uwaterloo.zoom.us to create your account.
Some users received an email from Cisco Webex advising them to convert their Webex account to an enterprise account. This is a legitimate email from Webex. No action is required.
Adobe will no longer be providing any product or security updates for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version 2015 as of July 7, 2020. Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015 will be removed from all AHS domain joined computers on July 27, 2020. Please make arrangements to use an Adobe Acrobat Pro DC alternative, or purchase a new Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription.
