Value Suite

At the core of SAF is the Value Suite, a rethinking of how business education is structured. Most programs start with individual disciplines such as accounting, finance, marketing and strategy, and build from there. The Value Suite starts somewhere else: with how organizations create value. From day one, you’ll learn how these areas connect, how they work together and how they shape the way organizations create and sustain value in the real world.

From the beginning, you apply that understanding by making and defending decisions across functions, evaluating trade-offs and measuring their impact. You see how choices connect across organizations and learn to anticipate their consequences before you act.

Spanning your first three years, the Value Suite replaces multiple traditional courses with a curriculum designed around how decisions are actually made.

Human skills at the centre

Build the skills that make technology more powerful: collaboration, adaptability, critical thinking and curiosity. Embedded, applied and assessed throughout the curriculum.

Built on real problems

Business doesn’t happen in a textbook. It happens through real decisions, competing priorities and measurable outcomes. Through simulations, industry challenges and applied experiences, you learn to create value in situations that mirror the realities organizations face.

Designed for complexity

Traditional courses can simplify problems. The Value Suite doesn't.

You work through uncertainty, competing priorities and incomplete information, building the judgement to adapt, reassess and make decisions when the answer isn't obvious.

What you study in the Value Suite

Year 1 - Understanding value

See business through the lens of value. Understand how organizations create, deliver and capture value, and how customers, markets and stakeholders influence what value looks like. Understanding what creates value is fundamental to understanding why businesses succeed, struggle or cease to exist.

Year 2 - Building organizations to create value

Organizations are shaped by people, structures and incentives. Together, they influence how an organization behaves, makes decisions and gets things done. Value can mean financial results, benefits for people or positive outcomes for the natural world. How an organization is structured shapes what it's capable of creating.

Year 3 - Delivering and managing value

Turn strategy into action and action into measurable results. Connect people, processes, technology and data to deliver value, measure performance and make better decisions. A strategy has to work in practice. Understanding performance helps organizations see what is working, where they’re falling short, when they need to adapt and how to improve.

And if you’re learning differently, you need to be taught differently.

The Value Suite changes more than what you learn. It changes what happens in the classroom.

At SAF, faculty do more than deliver content. They challenge assumptions, introduce competing viewpoints and push you to defend your thinking.

In some cases, courses are team taught, with faculty from accounting, finance, strategy, technology and sustainability bringing different perspectives to the same challenge, helping you understand how disciplines connect and decisions ripple across organizations.

What this creates is a learning environment that feels distinct.

By the time you graduate, you have learned how to see problems from multiple perspectives, understand competing priorities and make decisions that create meaningful outcomes.

You become the kind of professional organizations need: someone who can connect ideas, navigate complexity and create value in a world that keeps changing.
