Rocky Mountain Ankle-aster

Ionactis stenomeres (A. Gray) Greene is native to dry slopes, grassy ridges, and openings at 1700–2200 m in southeastern B.C., northeastern Washington, northern and central Idaho and adjacent Montana.  Plants are 12–30 cm tall, have linear-lanceolate mid stem leaves (15–25(–30) mm long) with green margins,l and glandularfruit bodies (Nesom 2006 FNA). The species was first described as Aster stenomeres A. Gray.
