Solidago zedia

Southern Blue-stem or Woodland or Wreath Goldenrod

Solidago zedia (R.E. Cook & Semple) Semple & J.B. Beck is native to woods and thickets of the southeastern U.S.  Its mid and upper stem leaves are broadly lanceolate to rhombic and the stems are only weakly arching (Semple & Cook 2006 FNA as S. caesia var. zedia).

Based on results of polygenomic DNA studies, the taxon was given species level status.  Further work is needed to fully sort out relationships in S. sect. Glomeruliflorae.
