Elliott’s Aster

Symphyotrichum elliottii (Torr. & A. Gray) Nesom is native to moist, low sites, swamps, bogs, marshes, brackish marshes along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts from Virginia to Louisiana (Brouillet et al. 2006; FNA). Stem leaves are firm, bases attenuate, sometimes ± clasping, not auriculate. The species is diploid (2n=16).

Symphyotrichum elliottii is of conservation concern in some states.
