Rhiannon's Aster
Symphyotrichum rhiannon Weakley & Govus is very rare on ultramaphic serpentine outcrops in Clay Co., North Carolina (Brouillet et al. 2006; FNA). Leaves are oblong-lanceolate, winged-petiolate, clasping to subclasping, shallowly auriculate, and the rays are blue to lavender. The species is hexaploid 2n=48.
Symphyotrichum rhiannon is of conservation concern.
