Heterotheca canescens

Heterotheca canescens (DC.) Shinners has silvery green leaves due to the high density of hairs.  The species is mostly diploid (2n=18) with  tetraploids (2n=36) occurring in the central part of the range.  See Semple (2006 FNA).
