Rocky Mountain Canada Goldenrod

Solidago lepida DC. var. salebrosa (Piper) Semple is native to western North America.  It is distinguished by having less leafy inflorescences that are secund pyramidal with elongated spreading-arching lower branches (Semple & Cook 2006 FNA).  It can be difficult to distinguish from var. lepida.  Glaucous-stemmed forms can be difficult to distinguish from S. gigantea.  More hairy forms can be similar to S. altissima, but are usually glandular as well.
