Our work titled "Defending Against DDOS Attacks on IoT Network Throughput: A Trust-Stackelberg Game Model" by Chunyang Qi, Jie Huang, Cheng Huang, Huaqing Wu, and Xuemin (Sherman) Shenwas honored with the Best Paper award at the IEEE Globecom'22, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Congratulations!

In November 2022, Amr Salah Matar successfully defended the Ph.D. thesis. Amr joins Ciena Canada in Ottawa as an engineer. Congratulations to Amr and wish him all the best in his future career!

Prof. Rongxing Lu from University of New Brunswick, Canada, visited the BBCR group at UW. Prof. Lu delivered an inspiring research talk, titled "Efficient and Privacy-Preserving Similarity Query with Access Control in eHealthcare". 

Prof. Kuan Zhang from University of Nebraska–Lincoln, USA, visited the BBCR group at UW. Prof. Zhang delivered an inspiring research talk, titled "Energy-efficient Distributed Artificial Intelligence over Edge-assisted Internet-of-Things". 

A mini research workshop titled Intelligent Computing for Future Networks was held at the BBCR group, University of Waterloo, on Aug. 2, 2022.

Prof. Ning Zhang from University of Windsor, Canada, Prof. Ran Zhang from Miami University, USA, Prof. Yujie Tang from Algoma University, Canada, and Prof. Ning Lu from Queen’s University, Canada, attended the workshop and delivered inspiring research talks.

Dr. Huaqing Wu has joined the University of Calgary, Canada, as an assistant professor. Wish Dr. Wu all the best in her future career!

Prof. Sherman Shen hosted the Awards Ceremony at IEEE ICC 2022. As the President of IEEE ComSoc, Prof. Shen presented the IEEE ComSoc paper awards.

In May 2022, Manaf Ben Yahya successfully defended the Ph.D. thesis. Manaf joins Huawei Canada Inc., Toronto, Canada as a Network Engineer. Congratulations to Manaf and wish him all the best in his future career!
