Monday, January 26, 2015 8:30 am - 3:30 pm EST (GMT -05:00)

Come learn about the current state-of-the-art review on the relationship between human factors and production quality. We will hear from industrial engineering, operations management, and human factors experts on the impact of human factors engineering on operations systems performance, as well as from those who have adopted aspects of human factors into their interventions to prevent human errors, quality deficits, and work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSD).

Program sessions include:

  • Conceptualization
  • Empirical evidence of the human factors-quality linkage
  • Cost-benefit analysis: Automotive industry
  • Human factors engineering and production quality linkage: Case studies
  • The impact of human factors engineering on operations system performance and human well-being
  • Interactive table discussions: Taking evidence to practice
