Webinar - Preventing Barriers and Facilitating Safe Patient Handling: Slide Sheet Use

Wednesday, May 27, 2026 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

In this webinar

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) are the leading injury among healthcare workers in Ontario, with more than 45% directly related to manual patient handling. Research shows that slide sheets significantly reduce physical strain during transfers while improving client comfort and protecting skin integrity. Yet despite training and ready access to the equipment, slide sheets remain underused in many community healthcare settings.

This webinar examines the barriers to consistent slide sheet use with the aim of helping community healthcare organizations to combat these challenges. This session is ideal for personal support workers (PSWs), educators, managers, and health and safety leaders committed to workforce well-being and injury prevention.
