Webinar description
The development of a safe patient handling program can be a daunting task for many organizations. Most of the time, just knowing where to start is the greatest challenge. This webinar will share the approach taken by Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) to develop, implement and sustain a comprehensive safe patient handling program. Presented step-by-step, this webinar will provide insight into key considerations, such as:
- Development of a safe patient handling policy
- Completing an environmental scan/needs assessment
- Implementing safe patient handling training
- Evaluating program success
- Supporting sustainability
Each step of the program will offer examples from the HHS model as well as discuss challenges faced along the way. The goal of this webinar is not only to share a successful framework used for safe patient handling program development and implementation, but to empower organizations to review current practice, identify gaps, and strategically implement change based on the organization’s needs.
This is a free webinar offered through the client/patient handling community of practice (CoP), presented in partnership with CRE-MSD and PSHSA.
