Frances Ziesmann will present an overview of key features needed in the development of a client/patient handling program for the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD).
Frances is both a Registered Physiotherapist and Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP). She is a consultant for the Public Services Health and Safety Association (PSHSA), Health and Community Services Team. She has a BSc from Western University, BSc in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto, as well as a diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and a Masters in Health (Services) Management from the Degroote School of Business at McMaster University. Frances has over 26 years of experience in healthcare occupational health and safety with a focus on health and safety program development and implementation, including client handling. She has led many musculoskeletal disorder and client handling injury prevention initiatives at PSHSA and participated in several participatory ergonomic research projects with the Nursing Health Science Research Unit (NHSRU) at McMaster and the Institute for Work and Health (IWH).
