Dr. Samuel Howarth is an Associate Professor and the Director of Human Performance Research at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. His research primarily focuses on how biomechanical information obtained from physical performance tests relates to functioning for people with low back pain. Although not a chiropractor, Dr. Howarth has also developed an interest in understanding how health professionals like chiropractors perform complex motor skills like manual therapy. This has led to studies on musculoskeletal issues in practicing chiropractors and the physical demands of performing manual therapy.
