Throughout the week of August 8, 31 youth across the Waterloo Region ages 11-14 gathered at Conrad Grebel University College for Peace Camp. The Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement’s fifth annual day camp was once again packed with exciting activities with a peace and social justice spin to encourage youth to inspire lives, strengthen ties, and make peace happen in Waterloo Region.

KITCHENER, ON – Kindred Credit Union, formerly Mennonite Savings and Credit Union (MSCU), has renewed its commitment to support the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement (CPA). The CPA’s change of name reflects the name change of its donor.

Tomorrow, June 9 2016, two-hundred academics and practitioners from eighteen countries will descend upon Grebel and the MSCU Centre for Peace Advancement for the Global Mennonite Peacebuilding Conference and Festival. Last week, students across Ontario going into their final year of high school were invited to identify a need they see in their community. With a problem in mind, they were invited to find a mentor in their school and apply for Mennonite Savings and Credit Union’s (MSCU) 2016 Peace in Action Program. 

On December 10, 2015, the members of the Epp Peace Incubator program gathered to decide how they could best make use of the MSCU Centre for Peace Advancement’s Peace Fund. Supported by the Mennonite Savings and Credit Union, money from the fund is distributed once each semester.

On Thursday, October 29, 2015, seventy people gathered in the Mennonite Savings and Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement (CPA) to join Project Ploughshares (an affiliate member of the CPA) in celebrating the launch of Ernie Regehr’s book entitled, Disarming Conflict: Why Peace Cannot Be Won on the Battlefield.
