Announcing the 2025/26 award and prize recipients from the Theatre and Performance program!

2nd, 3rd, and 4th Year Academic Achievement Award

These awards are presented to the students with the highest cumulative major average in their year. This year's recipients were Isabella Renzella in second year, Julia You in third year, and Theo Patterson in fourth year.  

Jocelyne Sobeski Prize 

Named after Jocelyne Sobeski, the Head of Wardrobe for the Theatre and Performance program from 1993–2012 who designed for over 50 productions, this award is presented to the student who has demonstrated exceptional ability and creativity in costuming and wardrobe skills. This year, it was awarded to Quinn Hetherington for her work on her capstone, where she was Wardrobe TechnicianforA Midsummer Night's Dream, the Fall 2025 mainstage production.

Lloy Coutts Prize

This prize is presented to the student who has exhibited exceptional discipline, insight, ability, and collaborative participation as a performer. Named after the longtime text and voice coach Lloy Coutts, this award was presented to both Ethan Warren and Theo Patterson for their work in A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Nether

Technical Theatre Prize

This award recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding discipline, insight, skill, and teamwork in stagecraft and theatre production. This year’s recipients are Chris DeLenardo, for his work as Assistant Stage Manager of Props; Julia You, for her work as Head of Wardrobe; and Leo Ridpath, for his work as Head of Carpentry—all for their contributions to A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Robin Atchison Prize

This award is presented to a student or students who have made an exceptional overall contribution to the intellectual, creative, and collegial life of the Theatre and Performance program. Robin Atchison was the administration manager and undergraduate advisor for the program from 2003–2015, and this award commemorates her tireless work ethic, efficiency, quiet dedication and good humour. This year, it was awarded to Morgaine McEvoy.
