The Communication Arts Department was excited to hear our own Dr. Shana MacDonald, Associate Professor, on CBC's The Morning Edition - KW with Craig Norris on January 27, 2025.  

MacDonald sat down with host Craig Norris to discuss the collective power of social media users. What impact can a local subreddit protest have on X?  When large platforms move away from content moderation, how can users create safe spaces for meaningful discussions?

With a world that is increasingly filled with misinformation and social media algorithms creating loud echo chambers affecting how we communicate with one another, Communication Studies (both on- and off-line) has become more important than ever.
