Paula Wing Wins George Luscombe Mentorship Award!
The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced that Paula Wing is this year's recipient of the George Luscombe Mentorship Award, recognizing exceptional mentorship in the performing arts. Presented biennially, the award honours individuals who significantly nurture emerging artists.
Paula Wing, a distinguished dramaturge, is celebrated for her dedication and innovative teaching methods. Her mentees praise her unwavering support and ability to inspire growth. Paula was the instructor for THPERF 366 - Writing for Performance, in fall 2023.
“Mentorship is about open communication and forming enduring connections,” Paula said. “I take immense joy in assisting artists as they expand their practices.”
Named after the founder of Toronto Workshop Productions, the award includes a framed print by Theo Dimson, a copy of "Conversations with George Luscombe," and a $1,000 cash prize funded by the Kingfisher Foundation.
The award will be presented at the 44th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards on Monday, June 24th, at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre.
