The University of Waterloo has recently announced that it is suspending all on-campus courses from March 14 – 23. As COVID-19 continues to change rapidly across the world, the Theatre and Performance program is taking steps to limit the spread and risks of the disease within our community. The program has decided to cancel all public performances of UpStart 20.
We will be filming a video of the UpStart 20 festival for our archives, which will be available on YouTube and shared for everyone to enjoy online.
If you have purchased a ticket, please contact the University of Waterloo Theatre Centre Box Office (Monday to Friday from 12 PM – 5 PM, 519-888-4908) for a full refund.
Although the theatre industry is famously known for the phrase ‘the show must go on’, this may be a time in our history where this is not the case. Although this is devastating news for our students, alumni, and program, we must be socially responsible in the face of circumstances outside of our control.
