Privacy Policy

Statement of Purpose 

In accordance with governing policies established by the University of Waterloo, the University of Waterloo Computer Museum Association defines how your personal contact information will be managed. 

Information storage 

Personal contact information is stored in a database on a secure University of Waterloo cloud platform If you provided information in a physical written form (such as signed Deed of Gift paperwork), that paper will be scanned into a digital form and stored as noted aboveThe physical paper will be retained in a locked secure file-storage cabinet located at the University of Waterloo. 

The collection, storage, and disclosure of information contained in the Computer Museum database is consistent with the Province of Ontario's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). 

Privacy 

Personal information is not sold or rented. It is only accessible to those Museum personnel who require the information to execute their assigned duties and who are aware of this policy. 

The Computer Museum websites (https://uwaterloo.ca/computer-museum and https://computermuseum.uwaterloo.ca/) make use of cookies, online tracking and analytics software. The information gathered through these resources enables the functionality of the websites and allows us to analyze trends in our online traffic, with the goal of improving our online presence.
