Fostering gender equity in religious and spiritual communities

Tuesday, March 28, 2023 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Fostering gender equity in religious or spiritual communities

Gender Equity & Reconciliation International (GERI) applies principles of Truth and Reconciliation to create practical new pathways for establishing gender equality. Developed over 30 years and conducted with thousands of participants across six continents, GERI was formally endorsed by Archbishop Desmond Tutu in 2013.

You are warmly invited to join this mini workshop as an introduction to the GERI process, and discover its promising application for establishing “beloved community” in religious communities of all faiths. Embark upon a new form of spiritual healing and reconciliation work between genders that builds trust and compassionate communication through a skillful combination of interactive activities, spiritual practice, & transformative group process.

This event will be led by GERI co-founders Cynthia Brix and Wil Keepin, and intended to gage interest in a longer conversation and workshop in the future.

This event is sponsored by Mennonite Central Committee Ontario and hosted by the Institute of Peace and Studies at Grebel.
