This workshop, uses the two lenses of conflict drivers and conflict paradoxes, and considers seemingly intractable conflicts and their transformation.  Questions for consideration include the nature of intractability, de-escalation strategies, transforming intractable conflicts and engaging emotions. This workshop builds on Understanding Conflict: Foundations. It is highly interactive, insightful, engaging and critical for all those who wish to deeply understand the nature of conflict and its transformation.

Completion of Understanding Conflict: Foundations is strongly recommended.

This is a required course in the Certificate in Conflict Management for both the Mediation and Congregational Leadership streams.

Testimonials

Betty is an exceptional lecturer - it's rare to find a speaker compelling enough to listen lecture for more than 15mins. Her depth of experience and ability to tell different stories to surround a concept or tool was very useful.

"The in-depth exploration of polarities was excellent. The discussion of forgiveness and apology added to what I've already given a lot of thought to."
