  • Scholarships valued at $5,000 each will be awarded each term to graduate students registered full time or part time in a doctoral program in any department or faculty at the University of Waterloo. Interested students must identify as Black* and must have obtained a minimum cumulative average of 75% or equivalent in their current or most recently completed program.

  • Scholarships, each valued at up to $5,000, will be awarded to Black* or Indigenous+ students registered full-time in any graduate program at the University of Waterloo.

  • Indigenous and Black Engineering and Technology Momentum Fellowships, valued at $30,000 per year, are available annually for doctoral students registered full time in the Faculty of Engineering.

  • The Provost’s Distinguished Inclusivity Doctoral Entrance Award aims to remove barriers and support the participation of students from equity-deserving groups that have been historically underrepresented. Awards, valued at up to $10,000, will support students entering a doctoral program in any Faculty from one of the following groups: women-identifying students enrolled in programs wherein women are underrepresented, Black, Indigenous students, and students with disabilities.

  • Two scholarships, each valued at a maximum of $5,000, will be awarded annually to Black students entering into the Master of Mathematics for Teachers (MMT) program at the University of Waterloo.
