Celebrate International Education Week from November 18 to 22
By Sam Toman.
From November 18 to 22, the University of Waterloo invites you to join the global celebration of International Education Week. This special week highlights the transformative power of international education, bringing together events that foster cultural exchange, deepen understanding, and strengthen our community.

Learn about sustainable global practices at the Culture and Sustainability Fair, or attend sessions that offer insights on international opportunities, such as studying abroad in Germany or pathways to permanent residency in Canada.
Join the Mapping Out the Global Innovation Landscape conference on November 21 for discussions on global tech innovations, or wind down with an International Movie Night at Renison Dunker Family Lounge.

During that time, she has modelled empathy and compassion in her leadership for the SAFA team.

In 2008 she became the Director, Student Awards and Financial Aid. Maureen also held the role of Interim University Registrar in 2017.

The Theatre and Performance program's fall production is set to take the stage tomorrow. Th’owxiya: The Hungry Feast Dish is a play written by Joseph A. Dandurand and directed by Andy Houston, and is billed as "a tale of understanding boundaries, being responsible for one’s actions, forgiving mistakes and finding the courage to stand up for what’s right."
"From the Kwantlen First Nation village of Squa’lets comes the tale of Th’owxiya, an old and powerful spirit that inhabits a feast dish of tempting, beautiful foods from around the world," says the play's description. "But even surrounded by this delicious food, Th’owxiya herself craves only the taste of children. When she catches a hungry mouse named Kw’at’el stealing a piece of cheese from her dish, she threatens to devour Kw’at’el’s whole family, unless he can bring Th’owxiya two child spirits. Ignorant but desperate, Kw’at’el sets out on an epic journey to fulfill the spirit’s demands. With the help of Sqeweqs, two Spa:th and Sasq’ets, Kw’at’el endeavours to find gifts that would appease Th’owxiya and save his family."
Tickets are $15 general admission, with students and seniors paying $10 and high schoolers and other chlidren (haha) paying $5. Performances run from Tuesday, November 19 to Saturday, November 23 in the Theatre of the Arts. Check out the Th'owwxiya website for more details.
