The Practical Side of Interdisciplinary Research: The Ins and Outs of Building Teams Across Faculties

This session offers a deep dive into the realities of building teams and working within an interdisciplinary framework. Our panelists will share valuable insights into strategies for developing and advancing research projects with interdisciplinary teams (across all six faculties), highlighting what works well, potential pitfalls, and how to negotiate common challenges. 

This session is ideal for researchers at all levels who are interested in or are currently engaged in interdisciplinary collaborations across all six Waterloo faculties. Following the brief panel presentations, there will be a Q&A session.

The session will be introduced and moderated by Ian Milligan, Associate Vice-President, Research Oversight and Analysis. 

 The three panelists include:

  • Adam Molnar (Sociology and Legal Studies)
  • Lai-Tze Fan (Tier 2 CRC in Technology and Social Change; Sociology and Legal Studies
  • Neil Randall (Executive Director, The Games Institute; English Language and Literature)
