A central task of the Arts Research Office is to advance Faculty of Arts research by providing information, guidance, and support to Arts faculty members pursuing internal and external research funding. The Dean of Arts Office also provides direct support for research in the form of cash and in-kind contributions for grant applications and funding for meritorious research and creative initiatives for which no funding programs are available.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Indigenous Initiatives Office.
