The Tri-Agency is comprised of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
Waterloo Arts faculty members are among the country’s most successful research grant winners in social science and humanities fields. In 2022, Maclean’s magazine again ranked Waterloo #1 in the areas of social sciences and humanities grants, scholarships and bursaries as a percentage of operating expenses and in reputation among comprehensive universities.
Emerging researchers in Arts have also been successful in winning prestigious Ontario Early Researcher Awards (ERA) in both social sciences and humanities fields.
