Our internal application deadline for the open scholarships is set for March 4, 2026 at 4 pm ET.
The Master of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and Master of Mathematics in Data Science programs have been recognized by the Vector Institute as a core-AI related program. This implies that students in the program can apply for Vector Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence (worth $17,500) using a streamlined process.
Interested students must submit the following application documents. Any required nomination forms listed below can be found and downloaded from the Templates Page. Please carefully review the instructions for each form.

- Students who submit unofficial transcripts will be required to submit official transcripts if selected as scholarship recipients

- The student’s reason for pursuing a master’s in AI (passion and purpose),
- Relevant AI-related experience (past practice and application), and
- Career aspirations (dreams and goals).
- Self-Identification Questionnaire
- Two references, at least one of which is academic. See details in the references section below.
- Complete Referee Forms should be sent by the referee directly to the nominating program office and not to the student. Please reach out to your program administrator regarding the designated contact for the scholarship.
- If the nominee’s GPA in the last two years of study is below an A- (i.e. below the equivalent to a Canadian university 3.7 GPA), a written rationale for consideration of the nomination (i.e. describing extenuating circumstances) must be included as an additional page within the nomination package
Applicants must submit all listed documentation to the Vector Scholarship in AI | Applicant Dropbox, before the deadline for consideration.
