Our full-time Master of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (MDSAI) co-op program is partnered with Waterloo's Co-operative Education program, the largest of its kind in the world. Waterloo consistently places among the best universities in Canada and the world, and part of its reputation comes from its well-established co-op program.

MDSAI and Co-op

Our partnership with Co-op gives MDSAI students access to support and resources, including one-on-one training, info sessions, events and group workshops on a variety of topics. From resources for international students, résumé/interview tips, help in negotiating job offers, and other popular career topics, students have the opportunity to improve their employability alongside their academic career. Co-op students also have access to WaterlooWorks (Waterloo's employment administration system), which provides multiple job boards containing thousands of opportunities for undergraduate and graduate co-op students, regular students, graduating students and alumni. In addition, MDSAI students have exclusive access to our Graduate Data Science Job Board, where we post co-op and alumni job opportunities from our industry partners who are specifically looking for data science graduate students. The MDSAI program is Vector Institute recognized Masters program, giving our students access to their Vector Scholarships in Artificial Intelligence and exclusive job opportunities from Vector's nationwide partners.

The strong core theoretical training coupled with the wealth of support from Co-op has allowed MDSAI students to be successful and competitive in finding co-op employment.
