The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) has awarded $676,569 in the form of a Stragetic Partnership Grant (SPG) for a new project on "Assessing risks of eutrophication by urban stormwater runoff under climate change" led by Prof. Philippe Van Cappellen.

New work by Ecohydrology Research Group members has been published in the Water Resources Research journal. The article, titled "Can Improved Flow Partitioning in Hydrologic Models Increase Biogeochemical Predictability?", highlights the importance of considering flow paths in catchment-scale biogeochemical modeling of agricultural basins.
Philippe attended the Mid-Term Evaluation meeting of the R&D projects funded under the ERA-NET Cofund WaterWorks2015 Joint Call to support research on the sustainable management of water resources in agriculture, forestry and freshwater aquaculture sectors. The meeting was held in Madrid, Spain on March 27-28. In total 21 projects were evaluated.
Ecohydrology researchers are co-authors for work being presented at this year's European Geosciences Union (EGU), which is being held in Vienna from April 7th to 12th.
Ecohydrology Research Group members hosted researchers and collaborators from the University of Waterloo (UW), Wilfrid Laurier University, Laurentian University, and the Canadian Forest Service for a project kick-off meeting at UW.
