WETSCAPES Conference

The University of Rostock will be hosting researchers participating in the WETSCAPES Conference from September 10th to 13th, 2019. This year's theme is: "Understanding the ecology of restored fen peatlands for protection and sustainable use".

The annual Sceince Open House will be held on Saturday, October 26th from 10am to 4pm in the Science Teaching Complex (STC) and EIT. This free event is open to the pblic and offer activities for kids to leanr more about science at the Unviersity of Waterloo.

Canadian Science Policy Conference 2019

The 11th annual Canadian Science Policy Conference (CSPC) will be held in Ottawa, Ontario. 

This year, the Water Institute will be sponsoring a panel session titled "Personhood rights for water bodies: A fad or path to Sustainable Development Goals?", which will be held on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 from 4:15pm - 5:30pm.

Ecohydrology Research Symposium

Join us for the Ecohydrology Research Symposium on December 6th to celebrate the years of impactful research conducted by Philippe Van Cappellen and his students and colleagues, past and present. Research by Philippe and his colleagues has made innumerable contributions to various scientific fields spanning his career from his graduate studies at Yale to founding the Ecohydrology Research Group here at the University of Waterloo in 2011 and continuing today. We have planned a full day of exciting research talks to celebrate these contributions.

World Water Day 2020

World Water Day is an annual UN event celebrated around the world to highlight and advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. To learn more about World Water Day, click here.

This year's Canadian Geophysical Union Eastern Section Student Conference will be held at the University of Waterloo on Saturday, April 4. Students and early career researchers are encouraged to present their research or proposed ideas at this event. Registration and call for poster and oral presentations are now open. The deadline for abstract submission is March 6 at 11:59pm.
