The Electric Vehicle Challenge

The Electric Vehicle (EV) Challenge tasks teams of high school students with designing and building all-electric vehicles that are tested in an annual endurance competition. Teams participate in two races, plus an engineering design competition.

The EV Challenge was first held at the University of Waterloo in June 2012. In 2014, a pilot program was launched to provide a standard kit of parts to new schools interested in starting a team.

In 2015, the first Fall Kickoff Race took place. The goal of the Fall Kickoff is to show off the EV Challenge program to new students and ignite their build season.

The EV Challenge is run by the Sedra Student Design Centre in collaboration with Engineering Outreach and WatCAR.
