Teaching in an online course poses unique challenges. Because you are communicating almost entirely through writing, you need to pay extra attention to issues of tone and to make sure that the information you provide is clear. In addition, facilitating online activities and discussions requires strategies that are somewhat different from those used to facilitate in-person activities. The following resources will help you to be a better teacher in an online environment:
- The University's Keep Learning page is a general repository of online teaching strategies and resources. See particularly its Strategies for Remote Teaching section.
- The CTE's Blended Learning pages contain plenty of strategies for teaching online. See particularly Online Discussions: Tips for Instructors.
